Better to forget about digg. There are still thousand social networking sites to go with but maintain their integrity at any cost.

Digg can no doubt bring traffic - but that traffic is not sustained. Its only temporary, and visitors during the Digg effect do not stay loyal. They just come, have a look, and they are never back.

Also, I've seen instances of the Digg Team being very rude. Many well known websites that were banned had to face the rude Support Team.

Having traffic from digg is like having traffic from slashdot : it is not really qualified, and it is only worth something during 1/2 days...

Agreed, it's pretty useless traffic. Most similiar sites have weak conversions as well.

There are a lot of alternative to Digg popping up in particular niches. I started SEOyak.com because SEO sites were getting banned from Digg.

I don't have any hard data to back this up, but I would think that the traffic from the niche players would convert much better then the big sites like Digg.

    Guys I'm not getting it.
I got banned from Digg yesterday, but so fing What?

Can't you just sign up with a new account? (just like I did)

    And start repromoting again?

Or do you guys have a static IP address?

    Thanks

usually its your site that gets banned and not your username. you can always create a new account but its not practical to change your domain name.

Well, I guess I must have promoted my own site, and plus I resubmitted my site plus a index.php ending ;)

ohhh I didn't know they banned domain names.

Well, for digg, traffic from digg is usually just for the first couple days (since you're on the search page), then afterwards it dies.

I gave you green rep btw! :D

If you desperately want the digg traffic, simply purchase another domain, park it on top of your existing site and submit/digg the pages using the new domain. So that means for $6.99, you can get yourself unbanned. ;)

digg support team are indeed full of themselves.
