Image Editing Help required

I have just downloaded GIMP to edit some images.

Can anyone tell me how to put a text on an image. Ive often seen images with a copyright or url text to indicate the origin of the image. I want to add my website url onto the images prior to uploading on my site. Obviously I want to do it in a nice way so that the pictures still look good.

have no idea about GIMP dude, why don't u try photoshop for image editing..

 

I have no experience with Gimp , but my suggest is to press "T" on tools menu and then press somewhere on image where you want your text to appear. After you type things you need by selecting text you will be able to select another font or size.

 

Sorry I have no idea about GIMP, I'm using photoshop. it has all the solutions... Try that. You'll have more help if you use some well known graphic softwares...photoshop and corel draw

 

I haven't yet used that, still i prefer to use photoshop, and no more idea about GIMP.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm starting to use GIMP and pretty surprised at the lack of online tutorial available on the net. Perhaps I'm missing something..
