Images not linking category name comes in url wordpress

    Hi,
    I am using wordpress I am unable to link my images in posts the link is automatically adding category name in the url how do i remove the category names just from these image links

    /categoryname/imagefolder/image.jpg

    i have installed Top Level Categories plugin

    please guide me how do i remove the category name in url from image links

    From where are you uploading the images. Directly through FTP or from within wordpress. Inside wordpress it should ideally show in this format /wp-content/uploads/date/...... if you have kept the default uploads folder.

    i have uploaded them through ftp i have changed from joomla to wordpress /categoryname is being added to all images despite the fact the /categoryname is not in the post

    the issue is because of permalinks when i remove the /category/post.html format to /post.html the thing works
    but I want the posts to come in /category/post.html format and the images to remain same :(
