Improvement Adsense income

I've had a site for about 3 years now, I built from scratch and it is in the first three places in Google search for my niche. The website is found here

Basically, I haven't really been getting much. I'm usually lucky to get about $1 a day, but in most cases its either nothing or just a few cents.

I have placed ads on the site on the right hand side and a few text ones in the actual content. But at the same time I don't want to bombard my visitors with these ads, I want it to be reasonable. It's been like this for the past 2 years or so.

With regards to the site, what can I do to improve income. The niche might not particularly be high paying, but a few cents more will make a difference over the long-term

 

Your placement is ok so I don't think you can do much more to increase earning from that block. With the structure of your blog an Adsense block between posts I think would yield great results.

 

An adsense block may be possible, but anything with more than two ads in a block may be pushing it too far. At the same time I don't want to drive visitors away with 'in-your-face advertising', if you see what I mean. But I have tried that on a few pages, but I don't know how well they are doing..
