In need for ideas!

Alright, well I own http://silver-stars.net

Right now I'm trying to think of what kinds of things to add to it. It's a site with writings, Art, Music, links so it's a "General" site.

What are good scripting I can do to get in more traffic? I was thinking of giving out free email accounts "yourname@silver-stars.net" but I honestly don't think anyone would want that

I've also considered giving free webspace but that was too much to handle.

can someone please give me ideas on kind of things to add? Look around that site and tell me what it needs and what you would like added because I'm really looking forward to add more things to it.

I think a "General" site is not a good idea.

You could always have a games section?
I know when i was younger (even now lol), things like that had me hooked!

If you are going to start a new venture on such a large topic like art you would probably be better concentrating on something specific and doing it well, make a hook that grows your userbase before expanding to try and be all things to all people and end up just offering a little of everything.

 

I feel you should look at what pages your visitors visit and focus on providing more content in that area. I took a look at your site and really did not find anything to grab my attention. There is a saying that I think applies very much to your site: Jack of all trades, king of none.

I hope you consider this constructive critisism.

 

How about celebrities site: Starlets - photos, bios, fan gathering places, tv episode discussions... Sounds like a good idea to me

 

Couple of small ideas:

1. Add some graphics on the front page - all that text is very intimidating...
2. How about adding a simple Contact Forum, instead of having an old fashioned 'mailto' link tag everywhere.

Two small suggestions but it'd help your site a lot.

 

Maybe a little less black on your home page, or a little less black on your home page?

Black is great for highlighting your gallery images and many contrasting colours for that matter, but go from here to your page and back, I need sunnies on!

 

Here are some ideas:

• a website about the San Antonio Silver Stars
• a military site listing all Silver Star recipients
• a site discussing the silver screen (movie) stars who have sidewalk "stars" on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

good site ..but Iam afraid the site might be doing to many things in one..
maybe have three different site.

just my opinion and ya games get me hook too LOL - remember those days
during the 14k modem, you log in to those BB and play tradewars and such.
