Increasing Article Directory Income

    Hello all, in keeping with the saying that many minds are better than one I'm open to suggestions on how to increase the income from my article directory at
    http://www.article-gems.com

    I've had it online since Nov 2006 and it that short time grown the PR to 3, and over 2000 articles and growing. I get between 50-100 visits a day. Lots of people are clicking on the displayed banners but little affiliate income has been earned (any suggestions?) and what is the average sale per click, lead per click, etc. Its my first serious internet business.

    I'm open to advice from any guru or non-guru on suggestions in improving it (other than seriously modifying the original article-dashboard code)

    yes I contacted the host - 5 hour file server service. No being online is not normally a problem.
