    It's the other way around. Where would Intel be without Microsoft? Windows at one time ran on PowerPC (NT 4), do you think Microsoft would have gone out of business and Intel boomed if they stayed exclusively on PowerPC? I doubt it.

    There are some cracks in the WinTel walls now.

    Windows ran on the same processor as Mac uses, that is what you just said, right, when was this, how many years ago? The Motorola product? IBM? Explain if for the readers, I am sure they will be interested.

    It is a smart move for intel to expand their market through linux. But as shawn said without M$ where would intel be? So I guess this move is for business expansion rather than jumping to the other side.

    Intel is just catering for a growing niche in the market, it makes sense, microsoft is a long way from dead.
    It is a good sign for Linux though, its expanding quite fast, I think Microsoft is going to have trouble keeping any sort of large share in Servers even though they are trying hard, it will probably be a few years though before Linux is accepted as a mainstream desktop OS by the general public.
