Seems like a rather tricky blending technique. It took me a couple of minutes, via browsing the source-code to figure out where the ads were... It got me ;)

It took me 2 tries to see what you were talking about. Yeah, it is tricky, and well blended, but I don't think it is violating TOS.

I can think of another way to do it better- ;)

How come nobody could find the ads?! I found it within 10 seconds of clicking, first I looked on the left, but then I looked in the middle and saw it. But still, that's nice.

the adwords advertisers are gonna hunt you all down!

This sort of thing ads no value for anyone. the publisher will be driven to spartpricing, and the adwords buyer will have unqualified traffic.

This is crap. [and im not even an adwords advertiser]

I was not drawn to the ad's at all. I only saw the graphics- Not the boxes with the ads in them.

I think this is too well blended.

I think it won't get many clicks. Theme finders (like me) will just look at the graphics (thumbnail). The nicer thumbnail of the template will only get those clicks for sure.

If he could just have 9 templates on each page, with 3 on each row. Then add one ad to each row. He may get more clicks.

I do a similar thing on my site and get a fairly average ctr. I dont think it really fools visitors into clicking as they are clearly adsense ads. So I doubt there is much risk of smartpricing.

Most people who are already doing Wordpress often enough to go hunting for new themes aren't "clickers". His CTR is probably average, no matter how well he blends.

That's just smart placement. And no way is that deceptive in any ways. It's clearly marked sponsors, and doesn't have any type of other distractions to it.

I think if anything they are too well blended meaning I was n't even attracted to them. I was more attracted to the pictures.

Little to much blending, you don't want to totally hide your ads from your users...

wow, took me a few seconds to recognise it...lol, i think he should actually use different colours for each box, since it'll look even more like thumbnails.
