is ebay losing direction?

i keep noticing that a lot of stuff on ebay is 'buy it now'
and not 'auction' stuff...like i thought its concept was.

A lot of people are setting out their stall as 'professional traders', selling hundreds of items, do you think ebay should limit people to a certain amount of sales at 'buy it now' prices, and the rest has to go up for auction ?

Why would they want to do that? It just means they make less money. :) eBay definitely is less auction and more eCommerce compared to when they opened shop, but I don't think it's a bad thing.

I agree, use to be fun to find items from all over. Now it seems like 100's of power sellers with stock photos. I still look at it at least weekly...

cuz final value fees are so high.

did anyone watch the msnbc on ebay. compared to the one msnbc did on walmart, I thought ebay came out looking a whole lot worse. ebay is just driving up seller's costs just below the breaking point, and they know it. i am amazed people can still make money on ebay; with final value fees and picture/gallery fees being so outrageous now.

Right. I don't see any problem with this, besides, we're just there to buy, to see if products are good and accessible enough for our money.

Its certainly become a lot harder to pick up a bargain over the years, unfortunately. However, if like me you enjoy buying tat then its still the only place to shop, PowerSellers or no. :)
