I have read places that social bookmarking is a great way to start getting your blog recognized, but is it bad to submit every single article you post to Digg, Delicious, Reddit, etc? I hear they ban you after a while for spam.

The idea is not to just submit your own content, for everyone of your own articles you submit you submit at least 5 from other sources

They might not ban you but folks will think twice before visiting your suggested links if folks start marking your previous links as bad.

If you want to get banned from DIGG, the best way is to submit everyone of your blog post. One guy was submitting 20 - 30 of his pages a day to digg. Well, it only took about 3 or 4 days and he was banned.

You need to submit more then just your pages to the social bookmarking sites. If you dont, your likely to get banned.

There is a difference in creating content and spamming. Submitting "only" your own articles is spamming.
