    Gang,
Is it okay to download videos from sites like youtube? Or is there any copyright issue involved in this?

When you watch a video, your browser downloads the video to the cache and shows it to you.
So if you're watching vids on youtube, flurl, etc; you're already downloading them ;)

It depends on the copyright on each individual video.

You can download them but do not re-distribute them.

I thought it would be of no harm if I downloaded a video from YouTube and kept it for my private purpose, without redistributing it? Am I wrong or am I right? I found a few damn good videos on YouTube and I don't know if I could go ahead and download them? Have you guys downloaded videos from YouTube before? Anyone can give some "inside" information on this? Thanks very much in advance for your time guys.

I'm pretty sure it's fine to download the videos for your personal use only but a check of YouTubes TOS would be a good idea.

I have a feeling the OP wants to download the vids and watch them on an ipod or something. I'm pretty sure it is legal to do. I bought some 3 dollar software off of ebay that works great for that purpose.

Most of the video's on youtube are on so many places that you'll be fine unless its something like those simpsons/family guy episodes that keep getting deleted for copyright purposes.
