For blogofwebmasters, try the large rectangle inside blog posts, floate left, over the fold, with the text wrapping around it, black text and url and RED TITLES.
Also remove all other ad-units/links and try this for a couple of days.
This is very high CTR placement.

At least on the link you've provided uses AdSense that is too dark. When I load up the page, because of the dark background of the ads -- I assume it's advertising and my eye moves past it.

I would think that placing ads on this site using a white background would really allow them to pop more off the page. That alone would cause me to scan it more thoroughly on an initial view.

The ads are too narrow when center aligned in your content area. I think that using a different format may help, or, perhaps changing up the colors a bit. The ads are certainly something that my eye looks at and reviews -- but again I think that adding a little more pop may be a good thing.

Perhaps using the green color from the blog heading as the adsense URL color would help?
