Is it worth using yahoo?

I currently have some campaigns running with google. I'm looking to run some campaigns with other search vendors as I figure the competition with them will be less.

What are people's experience with yahoo. Is it easy to setup? Do you get high conversions?

    thanks

My experience was that there was less impressions, but at least I paid less per click.

Yes, it's easy to setup, though not as full-featured as AdWords

I didnt find yahoo much cop to be honest and as stated above nowhere near as customized and featured as google.

Plus with 65% i think of all traffic using google i would push all my money there!

I did find however paying the $299 to be in yahoo directory to be one of the best things to do, seeing as google uses this too.

I considered the yahoo directory, but given the high price I wasn't really sure if it was worth it just for that one link back - surely you can always optimize your site better?

Yahoo is well worth the investment. I actually like one aspect of the interface better than Google's: If you have a sale's website, you can see your sale's amount next to your conversions in the main panel...In Google you have to run a report to see that info....

I actually get a higher ROI from Yahoo than Google....

I switch recently due to all the changes at Google over time. Always good to have other advertising options. But the bottom line in any PPC advertising is tracking. Here is a post I made in another category here at DP:

Several years ago, I netted over $20,000 in one month WITHOUT any real PPC tracking. That is why my income from those 3 campaigns dropped to ZERO when I "Assumed" they would go on forever. It is all about tracking and testing and I applaud you for sharing your information!!!

After jumping back in the PPC game, thinking I could just easily do it again, I lost over $2000 in 1 week! I have begun to rebuild my income SLOWLY, one keyword, one adgroup and one campaign at a time.

I have been testing those PPC Spy with minimal success. The only real success I have had is in taking the time to do the research for niches and then tracking and testing daily. I have purchased almost all of the PPC spy tools (Undercover Profits, Google Cash Detective, AdspyPro,etc) GCD looks the best so far. Tracking has always been an issue as most merchants wont allow tracking code on their purchase page. I did try several of the new tracking tools including Xtreme Conversions and the newest on the block. Check out the link in my sig for a great free report about the spy tools and tracking. No, this is not my product, but I will try to make money with it when it is released!!!

Regrdless conversions, the most thing I love about Yahoo search marketing is their customer support, they are very faster than Google adwords. However Adwords have a live chat feature but I never get a problem solved through that chat, they always say "will escalate the problem and be with you through email" and that takes may be more than 2 days.

I work with a client who runs five figures a month collectively through the three majors in a few pretty saturated niches and YAHOO! reliably provides about 60%-ish of the traffic that AdWords does (adCenter is generally crap). For this client, that's too big a chunk to ignore for sure. Additionally, YSM's interface isn't all that bad. It's not AdWords, but it's still very usable compared to adCenter. However, depending on what your budget is and what your niche is it may not make sense for you.

i have seen the best ROI on yahoo because the cpc is generally lower than google. You won't see the traffic that you see from google but it should def not be neglected using all three engines is worth the time investment.

It's definitely worth the time and efforts to put some keywords/ads on YSM due to its quality and volume.

For me... Yahoo has better conversions but Google gives you a lot more traffic. If you use both than you will get traffic + conversions.

Yahoo will not send you as much traffic as Google but the conversion will be better.

google is much larger and would definitely be more beneficial for the GROWTH of your site for more users- but yahoo would pay more
