Is myspace advertising dead? YES

Absolutly. First mySpace changed their captcha so it is impossible to bypass, now they require captcha for each PM you send to a non-friend.

To advertise in this medium is almost impossible and if you choose to go the bulletin route, who reads bulletins anymore? Everyone knows this is a spam method, even non technical users. So whats next?

Hi5, Friendster? Yes, until they follow suit..

    What are the exact limits?

    1. Adding friends
    2. Posting comments, it seems you will be required captcha once when sending comments?

Myspace marketing isnt dead. No way , you just have to change the way you market . There are some bots who can bypass captcha , dont ask me the names . However , if you can find them , then start something viral. Or best something controversial. People will start adding you and you will create huge friend list .

One thing for sure , noone will give away his secret as far web 2.0 marketing is concerned. You have to find it yourself.

It is a pain to use myspace for backlinks now though. It's not for PR or SEO anymore, the links back are only for visitors to click sinse the "inbetween" thing that removes the backlink to your site.

So it's harder to get myspace resource sites going, as building links is a pain.

I noticed the change made by myspace didn't affect many websites offering comments codes etc. Their traffic growed crazily!
    How did they do that?

I put some time into building up a relevant friends list for my site on MySpace...total waste of time! That is, unless you're willing to leave personalised comments on your "friends" pages.

And bulletins are just populated by endless inanities from one or two moronic people. Eg: "PC 4 PC", "New pic comment please!" "10 things about me". One girl did about 10 in 5 minutes, soon after I posted a bulletin! :D

it really depends on what you are marketing

myspace attracts a certain type of person usually direct response can work.

bulletins are not that great but having a simple click able link to your site and aving thousands of friends defienetly can work

    Dead? No. Slower? Yes.

MySpace marketing isn't dead. I personally know several people making high xxx-xxxx DAILY. Granted it isn't as easy as it used to be, but making 4 figures daily shouldn't be easy. Big deal, you sit down and do 8 hours worth of work and get paid very generously for the work that is done. Go work for some other company 8 hours a day and see if you get paid 4 figures daily.

It's all about the commitment and the time you are willing to put in. Money doesn't come easily, and if it does, it will only last for a short time. Read, Invest, Work, Repeat.

ps please do not contact me asking for peoples names or software, I will not give them, like I said, Read, Invest, Work, and Repeat. If you do this, you can do it yourself.
