Is Myspace Coming Back?

I actually missed the whole myspace trend, just right around facebook started to dominate.

Now I'm hearing rumors that there are tons of people going back to myspace. Also that their revamping the site.

Does anybody know anything about this?

 

They have revamped the site and you can request an invite. Not sure if it will be as popular as it was originally but it should be another useful social media site all the same.

 

I have a Myspace for my site , but I don't get nearly as much activity as my Facebook page.

Just signed back on yesterday and from what I have seen I kind of like it. It could use some tweaks here and there. Hopefully in the future they will allow you to share external links/articles like on facebook.

 

I never used MySpace, but I will join today and I will take a look. In these days, Facebook and Twitter are everywhere, I don't hear too much about MySpace.

 

I went to the new Myspace the other day to give it a look. Maybe I didn't fully understand it, but it was like Twitter got drunk, slept with LinkedIn, and they had an illegitimate child. There was nothing there that really got my attention or felt that I could use in any of my online efforts. I doubt I'll look at it again.

 

yea, it's like they took a bunch of social media sites and threw them in a blender. it did not come out tasting well imo

 

Same here never used it, that site is for teenagers and those with short attention spans people jump from thing to another

After update to the New look and open to the public tons of members back to MySpace. The highlight is users can easily play the song and easy to navigate from page to page. Who loves music a lot..... MySpace is best.

 

May be they have revamped their site, but I seriously doubt they are going to gain any popularity near to Facebook or Twitter.

 

The main reason people left myspace and started with facebook was because Rupurt Murdoch bought the site and kept changing shit. So it doesn't matter how many times they redo the site as long as he's in charge they will have a hard time bringing that site back to anything that was like there glory days.

 

To be perfectly honest, despite them losing the market share in terms of Social Networking, they never really "left". They remain one of the highest traffic websites on the internet as of 2013 (sub 300 on Alexa)- with no sign of any downward spiral. They simply realised they couldn't directly compete with Facebook; and altered their business and marketing plan accordingly.

Will be the same with MySpace as with Google+, no one will use it.

 

In short no. I had a MySpace page and even tried marketing stuff back then with little results. Then Facebook came around and then Twitter and just made it all easier. From connecting to new people to getting the word out.

MySpace's problem isn't their business model or marketing approach, it's that their name is MySpace. Say that to anyone and they will think you're living in the past. It's time in the sun is gone.

 

Again, wrong. It's still one of the busiest websites on the internet today, it just isn't mainly focused on Social Network to the extent Facebook is anymore. It's a changed website, not a dead one.
