Is Social Media Anti Social?

I have now heard a few people say how frustrated they are that their friends and family spend too much time on Facebook, LinkedIN and Twitter when they could be enjoying time with them. What do you guys think? Can Social Media be anti Social?

Personally, I still think it's an amazing way to keep in contact with people. Although, fairly easy to get addicted to, which is where it can become a bit of an issue. Why talk to people on Facebook when you could go and see them instead?

 

It is very addicitive! I have a number of mates who are constantly on Facebook and Twitter, even when we're out in the pub they are updating facebook with photos (which are often very amusing!), so it's great for keeping in touch, but I would rather they waited until the next day and enjoyed the night out

Yeah it is to some extend. As social media is new phenomena , not many users have learned to deal with it and balance their life.

 

No, Social media is not anti social. A month or two ago, Facebook decided to be off because they say that people are losing their social life in real life because they indulge in online social media at the level that they have no time for their real friends and family. So, this topic pop up.

But it is not true. Facebook and other social communities are just for time pass and to get the results for other purposes. Its not meant that they destroy a person's real social life. So, we have to care about it. but we should use online Social media in its limits.

 

So if moderation is the key; where is the line?

 

I dont think so . I am try to learn how to make money via social media .

 

I don't consider it as the anti social because it depends upon your mentality how you utilize it or etc. From many reason we can not consider social media as anti social.

 

Intersting points; I agree if it is for business use that is a different thing all together...
