Is Social Promotion Better Than SEO?

Always SEO your site first before you do ANY traffic promotions. That is webmaster rule 101. Once proper SEO is in place, traffic will only push your site up in the ranks. SEO is for long term, SMO is for now time.

 

Presently, SMO( Social Media Optimization) is highly preferred than SEO (Search engine Optimization). SMO is a new technique through which awareness can be easily created.

 

Social Networking helps to get the direct traffic

 

Social Promotion helps to increase the website traffic and SEO helps to ranked the keywords on search engine so i would like to say SEO is better than SMO

Its a part of e-Marketing, there is two types of e-Marketing SEO & SME/SMO

 

Combined effort in SEO and social promotions is better IMO. At least it can target traffic and organic search

 

SEO is the only way to get steady traffic.
Social networks are part of SEO and not a substitute to it!

For example you may only concentrate on twitter and facebook and forget about google rank or other search engines, but then you will end up with short run traffic that will dry out too soon. I made a website recently then shared it on Facebook and Twitter, in few days I got hundreds of visits to my website, but after that the traffic dried out to few visits per day.

You need high rank on search engines to get decent traffic; social networks are good as backlinks to your website and will serve the original purpose of improving your position in search results.

 

Main target of SEO is to make traffics and social promotion do it more effectively so you can say that social promotion is better in this regards. but SEO is required to make ur site available more in the net.

You're comparing two different things as though they have the same function. You probably already know you can't think of it that way, but it really does depend on your application. For example, a site like BuzzFeed would be better served going after social media channels for promotion, whereas an informational or ecommerce site wouldn't have as much luck in those realms, but could get strong results from SEO

 

It depends on your target visitor. SEO could give you targeted and long live traffic. In other way, Social Media can give you rapid traffic, but it's not targeted and it will comes for a short time.

 

I don't think so, SEO operators always has new method. SEO and social promotion are both method in one aspect

 

I think the combination of both seo and smo is needed. Today social media is most important source for promoting sites because lot of traffic comes from such a social network sites.

 

I think so SMO is better than SEO in marketing field...Since we need to put more effort for SEO than SMO...

But i've never seen a really good SMO specialist.

 

Again any SMO is no more than a compaign with short run exposure. SEO is for long run and organic traffic.

 

One more thing SMO is similar to payed Advertisments (like google ADwords), but AdWords could be better because they target potential customers (ex: ADs placed on relevant websites) unlike social media marketing which targets random people.

 

You can't compare them,both have their own pros and cons.You can get an immediate response from Social media while SEO helps in the long run.

 

I think this is not only better.. This is best for your website not for SEO.

 

We can not compare both, SMO will increase your website traffic while SEO is useful to get quality back links and improve ranking in search engines...
