Is Social Promotion Better Than SEO?

Both are extremely good, it's just about how you use them... Although one could say that Facebook is more for short-term, and Google for long-term, I don't agree because you can own a fan page forever and keep promoting to those people..

 

For prosper in SEO its better to follow the search engine guidelines it is beneficial for SEO. Use high PR and dofollow sites for link submission. Its better if you focus on relevancy or original content.

 

SEO contains social bookmarking..there is no comparison of both bcoz social bookmarking is a part of SEO..

 

Since both is free . If you do have time then focus on both . I believe SEO will bring Organic Search which the traffic is more quality compare to social media.
It would be best you able to generate traffic from both side.

1000 monthly queries for one keyword is really not so much. But when you working on SEO of your site seriously, you will surely get traffic from hundrets or even sthousands of keywords. 33 daily visitors from 1000 keywords is 33 000 daily visitors. Not so bad, eh?

Well, it seems that we can't compare traffic from Social networking website with traffic from Search engines. As traffic from search engines are more relevant and are capable to get converted into sale but whereas the traffic from Twitter and similar social networking websites are not easily converted into sale.

 

In current situation i think so SMO is better than SEO.

 

Social marketing is NOT SEO. Search Engine Optimization and Social networking are sub-sections of Internet Marketing. Each one focuses on a different source of traffic. My suggestion is focus on the long term results. If you see that social networking is beneficial not only in the short term but also in the long term, then focus all of your energy there, SEO is not as necessary as everybody screams it is. Your #1 goal is to send quality traffic to your site and if social marketing is doing this for you then do that, eventually your site will grown and the search engines will start listing your site for those keywords. That is what they prefer you do anyways.
