Absolutely, If you can get people to like what you're posting. I submit sites to SU all the time. It takes a while to build momentum but it can be done!

I get a ton of traffic from StumbleUpon to my sites. However, there's not much you can do. A few times I tried submitting items that I thought were particularly interesting, and they didn't go anywhere at all. It's worked for me when other people have submitted items themselves. I haven't been able to anticipate which pages would be most successful.

I think StumbleUpon can be a good source of traffic but it's really not possible to game or manipulate. It's best to just focus on making your site appealing and working on other ways for gaining visibility for your site. StumbleUpon will do its thing on its own, as people who use it submit and thumbs-up your page. It's really not worth thinking about. I only joined the site as a way of discovering new sites in relevant areas, and also for tracking how people were viewing and reacting to pages on my sites.

I just added some stumbleupon buttons to my forums. Hopefully they will drive some good traffic over the next few months.

 

Yes, Stumbleupon gives me some traffic but not that much as I expected. Anyway hopeful that I will get more from it in future.

Although I agree SU is good site to gain traffic. But how traffic is generated from there? Simply I have to post there or need some votes for that also?

 

So far stumbleupon has brought me more traffic than digg and any other social bookmark website together.
