    My website requires me to have a front page and I have a blog in a sub folder

    it is labeled. /blogname/postitle)

    is this right? I just want to make sure my blog is named correctly for good seo purposes...

    any better ideas? if so, what?

    www.your-domain.com/blogname/some-article-here

    is it like that?

    example URL ->

    so, here we have a niche web about dvd sales
    important key for SEO ->
    1. domain name -> www.dvd-sales.com -> domain as keyword
    2. content/dvd-software -> category name as keyword
    3. software-1.html -> post / article title as keyword

    you can add meta tag to header to ->
    TITLE : your title (as keyword)
    KEYWORD : your keyword
    DESCRIPTION : your keyword, again
    etc

    everything about keyword :)
