Is there a 60 Day hold on Namecheap ?

    Hi,

Can anyone please tell me if the above applies to Namecheap ? I recently (approx 2 weeks) bought a website and re-registered the Domain with Namecheap. I have now decided to look at selling the website as the money would be better spent on other websites of mine.

    Any advice grately appreciated.

    Re-registered the domain?
    Do you mean renew?

I thought there was a hold on the domain names. Perhaps I am wrong but it seemed like I encountered that at some point. Perhaps pushing to other users isn't a big deal though? I'll look more into it.

Newly registered or newly transferred domain names would usually have the regular 60 days hold and that applies to Namecheap. However if you intend to sell the site before that time, have your buyer open a free namecheap account which you could 'push' the domain name over without any restrictions.

If renew was what he actually meant then I see no reason for concerns related to domain transfers. 60 days restriction applies from the registration date. Renewed domains are generally open to registrant or registrar transfers.
