Is there a difference in writing copy for yahoo or google

I have a very successful set of adwords campaigns that have brought in allot of revenue for my company. I thought I would port the same set of campaigns into yahoo and see how they worked. They didn't. I have gotten nothing from them even though my ads are showing and ranking well they are not getting clicks much less conversions. I used the same ad copy. I just don't get it. Are the searchers in yahoo that much different than on google? Does the copy have to be different? Please help!

I've had different ctr's in both yahoo and google even with the exact same ad copy. I don't know why it was, althought I did have different positions in both. Maybe that had something to do with it ?

I did the same thing. Used the same ad copy across both platforms, but i got a better CTR and ROI in Yahoo! I think Yahoo! searchers are more business savvy than Google searchers. Giving that the quality score algorithms are different between the two, you'll more than likely get different results using the same ad copy.

thanks for the quick response. My ads are getting NO! clicks in yahoo. sorry for the dramatics but this is really starting to tick me off. I am getting tons of clicks and conversions in Google but nothing, nada, zip in Yahoo. How should I change my ads? Here are two of my better ads.

for what it's worth, Hitwise(dot)com released a study that found that Yahoo users are younger and Google users are richer. (their post was dated Feb. 15, 2008 if you want to find it. i'm not allowed to link yet!)

not trying to insult anyone here. just providing some info i ran into. decide for yourself.

i, too, find a huge difference between the success rates of Google and Yahoo campaigns. they're completely different animals.
