He clearly suggests that users should download Firefox. I saw some sites doing so lately so i wondered if its 100% legal. What would you say?

I don't see why not. It's advertising, right?

Ask the police. I think they are fine with it.

Whether it's within a certain company's terms of service depends on their terms of service. Read that terms of service and thou shall know.

According to TOS we are not allowed to tell visitors to click any ad, so why should this be ok?

I think i'll ask Google once and for all to know.

Google wouldnt be mad because they gain from it, THEY WANT PEOPLE TO CLICK AND DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE SOFTWARE...

I see no problem with it.

He suggests users download Firefox, he doesn't suggest that users click the advertisements. It is 100% legal, and Google will not suspend your account.

If you'd say, "Click that firefox button to download firefox and earn me revenue", then that can lead to account suspension.

But either way, both are legal, but 1 is not against TOS, and the other is. Just because you breached a rule in the TOS, it doesn't mean it is illegal.

I guess, as long as it doesn't have neon lighted arrow on it... illegal as in a violation of the TOS? or illegal as in the court of law?
