    yes. WP is very userfriendly. In my side, I used to finish projects using WP. On this other hand our clients also happy with this. for unexperianced client I use DIVI technology. so, cusomers can easily edit their content as they like

    I hate it...
    I prefer coding my websites from scratch, with a basic template system framework I myself made.

    Wordpress sends lots of queries to database to load just one page. They do all their plugin etc loading, which you are really not even using.
    Huge script, with thousands of files, makes it very difficult to edit something to suit your requirements.
    One single theme alone might have 10-20 files.
    A custom coded script, total files might be 10-15, depending on what you wish to achieve.

    However, if you are newbe, with zero coding knowledge, then sure go with wordpress... Some other blog scripts are available for free, you might want to look at some of those if you want...
    But amongst these, wordpress is a large community, meaning lot of pre-made things will be available to you like plugins, themes etc.

    My view, I still hate it...

    See this webpage: http://www.vagminetech.com/post/LogoBannerImageMaker
    This is my template framework.
    1 single HTML file for the theme, total 17 files of code.
    I am not a theme designer at all, as my eye sight is extremely bad. The theme file contains only a banner and some DIV items to display the content.

    But imagine how easy it is to modify just this one file to change the look and feel of the entire website.
    The code is super easy, I can add pages from admin panel.
    No queries are being sent to any database on this website.

    This is the kind of control I like.

    Suppose if I was using wordpress, then
    I'd need to setup a database
    install default wordpress
    Modify the default 15 theme files to whatever I can do, at the least change the banner image.
    Make a plugin for the "Image tool" I got on this website.
    Make or install a plugin tool for the image gallery.
    And then wordpress will send 10-15 queries to database to load one page.

    At first wordpress seems easy, but as soon as you wish to do something custom, it becomes a nightmare...

    I can't help but notice that almost every person who favoured wordpress has so less "messages" on this forum, probably even new in their internet career...

    On the other hand, almost every person who spoke against wordpress has thousands of messages on this forum. Each of them have been on internet for a very long time, probably 10 years or more...
    Experience speaks!

    I had to give you a 'like' because I'm one of those long in the tooth web guys who is less than impressed by the WP universe. I find it invites sloppy coding from its contributors. It is not fit for purpose except for blogs and trivial sites, otherwise it becomes a bloated train wreck looking for a place to happen.

    I've been retired for almost a decade, but still offer my fading expertise on occasion. If anything, the quality of web pages delivered by all too many theme templates has become even worse. Their authors apparently know only two element tags, DIV and SPAN, and know jacksh't about the cascade in CSS. Look to Jason's (@deathshadow) posts for more on that.

    Well, I have posted thousands of messages online, have done website design for almost 20 years. And yes, I do favor wordpress, since it does all I need. My websites have a lot of content and it's important for my clients as well. As far as design, I cannot present something as basic as you mentioned, that's not the design my clients or self would want. I do agree that wordpress themes are loaded with a lot of junk, you are VERY right on this one. Most of the 'premium' ones load slow and are so difficult to tweak it's a nightmare.

    I have also created my own wordpress framework that's super fast loading and basic, this way I can still create good designs and they don't need a lifetime to load

    It's not just junk, it's outright incompetence! That's what pisses me off so much about it and all the ignorant twaddles who constantly sing the praises of what is -- to be brutally frank -- a giant steaming pile!

    For example, just what the blue blazes do turdpress developers think they need something like... well, let's lift straight from YOUR page.

    <body class="home page-template page-template-page-home page-template-page-home-php page page-id-9">
    <div id="page" class="site">
    	<a class="skip-link screen-reader-text" href="#content">Skip to content</a>
    	<header class="site-header" role="banner">
    	<div class="navbar-wrapper">

    <div class="navbar navbar-expand-lg" role="navigation">

    				<div class="navbar-header">
    					<button
    						class="navbar-toggler"
    						type="button"
    						data-toggle="collapse"
    						data-target="#navbar-content" aria-controls="navbar-content" aria-expanded="false"
    						aria-label="Toggle Navigation">
            MENU
        </button>

    					</div>

    	<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbar-content">
            <ul id="primary-menu" class="navbar-nav ml-auto"><li id="menu-item-50" class="menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-page menu-item-home current-menu-item page_item page-item-9 current_page_item menu-item-50 nav-item active"><a href="https://embers-media.com/" class="nav-link active">Home</a></li>

    </ul>
        </div>

    				</div>
    			</div>

    		</div>
    	</header>

     <div class="logo-design-company-new-york">
    	<div class="container-fluid pt-50 pb-100">
      <div class="ml-20">
       <div class="col-md-7">
    		<h1>Logo Designer in New York</h1>
      <h2>Unforgettable Logo Designs since 2002</h2>

    Code (markup):
    That's around 2.3k of code... that is utter and complete semantic gibberish... Is "Logo Designer in New York" ACTUALLY the heading (singular) that everything on every page of the site is a subsection of?!? That's gibberish use of H1 unless you have HTML 5's idiotic pointless SECTION tag. Endless pointless DIV for nothing, endless pointless classes for nothing, scripting only BUTTON in the markup doing something that shouldn't even NEED JavaScript if you're going to "abuse" a form element that way. Is "unforgettable blah blah blah" REALLY the start of a major subsection of the page? There's a reason WhatWG's ignorant HGROUP tag was told to sod off, given that's not what numbered headings mean or are even for! That's a single heading so it should be a single H2 tag, possibly with SMALL inside it to indicate de-emphasis.

    EVERY time I see a turdpress menu I have to choke back the urge to track down Mullenweg and punch him in the face. WHY?!? you ask? Here's why:

    <body>

    <h1><a href="/">Embers Media</a></h1>

    <input type="checkbox" id="toggle_mainMenu" class="toggle" hidden>
    <label for="toggle_mainMenu"></label>
    <ul id="mainMenu">
    	<li><a href="/" class="current">Home</a></li>
    	<li><a href="/logo-design-portfolio/">Portfolio</a></li>
    	<li><a href="/logo-design-process/">Logo Design Process</a></li>
    	<li><a href="/testimonials/">Testimonials</a></li>
    	<li><a href="/contact/">Contact</a></li>
    </ul>

    <div id="homeIntroBanner">
    	<h2>
    		Logo Designer in New York<br>
    		<small>Unforgettable Logo Designs since 2002</small>
    	</h2>
    Code (markup):
    584 bytes, more accessible, PROPER semantics, and there isn't a single thing being done on that page to warrant more than that.... and I literally mean for the exact same appearance and functionality. NOT ONE DAMNED THING is being done to require more HTML than that.

    The sheer volume of ignorance, ineptitude, and incompetence found in most every turdpress template, from the static scripting in the markup, static style in the markup, endless pointless DIV and classes for nothing, endless pointless scripting doing HTML and CSS' flipping job, etc, etc, etc, simply proves that 99.99% of the people working with turdpress have ZERO blasted business building websites for anything more complex than a "blog for grandma to keep in touch with the 5 year olds". It sure as shine-ola has no business being used for business!

    Unless of course you're one of the sleazy shits peddling it, in which case your only interest is in doing to business to somebody. Aka raping their wallet then running for the hills before they figure out how badly you've screwed them!

    Beats me why Wordpress likes to add sooo many classes. I actually tried stripping down the menus as much as possible and then got a client who wanted god knows what stuff on it and it would take be back to square one. The menu is based on the wpnavwalker bootstrap to wordpress integration, if you know how to strip it down more and clean this crap without ditching it completely (clients should be able to tweak the menu from inside wordpress, they'd die if I require them to open the header.php file to modify a link, I'm all ears ;)

    Wordpress is good for someone who wants to learn web design or developing without going through complicated codes, I think. It's user friendly and free.

    Have you not even read any of this thread? Unless you can return with some actual, strong arguments to support your position, your post has no value and misleads beginners.

    No offence to anyone, but I believe WordPress is for lazy webmasters. There are better blog engines (like Ghost, for example) and less bloated CMS (like Anchor). Simple HTML is still better.

    I tried a couple of different content management systems but found wp easiest to use. I think there are two major reasons for that. First, they have a very friendly wp interface, and second is the knowledge base within the wp community - lots of youtube tutorials, wp forum, themes, and plugins. But of course, which platform is the best depends on the project as some of them may require different features.
