    Hi Everybody,

I didn't find a topic like this, and as I am new employed at a Big company which is going to implement IT Audit services in Armenia and I will be the seond person after my colleague who will carry out the process I decided to have a post here.

I am currently on research about the topic, but I will be really greatful to you if you could post as much info as you have about IT and WEB Audit.

WEB AUDIT: A web audit is an analysis of a web site that analyses both purely technical aspects, and the quality and presentation of its contents from the point of view of strategic marketing.

IT AUDIT: As part of their work, auditors review existing efforts and recommend best practices to enhance a company's security landscape. To help companies promote the implementation of security awareness programs that address the impact of stakeholders on companywide security efforts, auditors can recommend that companies establish a security project owner, do preliminary research, create modular program content, communicate program policies and procedures, and implement a managed process for the security program.

This is a short description about the work that the auditors need to conduct.

What do you think is this a new business sphere? Does it have a possible growth in a country that has noone to audit and examine some business' IT structure?

still no comments, but fortunately I found lots of info after a long term research...

Here is a brief info on web audit, you might need it
    ----------------------------------------------------
The purpose of a web audit is to check that your site is performing at its best

A complete web audit should consider:
    • Accessibility to visitors
    • Performance
    • Message communication
    • Visitor data acquisition
To do these tests you need to find a low spec machine on a standard dial-up modem. Just because you have an all-singing and all-dancing machine on `broadband' doesn't mean your customers do.
    • How long does your site take to load on a standard dial up machine? More than 5 to 10 seconds? If so, you are losing visitors.
    • Are all the images optimised for the web? We have seen images that are over 500kb in size that can be reduced to less than 20k with little noticeable difference visually.
    • Do all the links work?
    • Can you easily navigate to all major sections of the site within 2 or 3 clicks?
    • Does the site work on a small monitor. You would be amazed how many people still use 14-inch monitors, or have huge monitors running at 640 by 480!
    • Can somebody who is unfamiliar with the site find the purpose of the site and what you actually want to tell them in less than a minute? If you can, sit and watch somebody who is new to the site, and watch how they use it.
    • Does the site have a `clear call to action', whether that is to; buy something, sign up for information, subscribe to a newsletter or another defined objective, because if it doesn't…why have you got a web site?
    • Does the site work on other platforms like the Apple Macintosh range of computers or other browsers like Netscape?
    • Does the site require specialist fonts to be downloaded, because if it does then it may well be unreadable on your potential clients machines !!!
    • Are all the colours web-safe? Your pretty blue background could actually be displayed as pink or green on a different hardware set up.
The list goes on, but if you are finding any of these basic tests are failing you need to look at your web site very carefully.
