Or at least that seems to be what my family hopes.

Just got a call from my dad. I very, very rarely get calls from him, but he found out about what I'm earning from my business and wants to know how to get started. Got a call from one of my uncles the other day asking the same thing, and apparently another one is likely to call me soon with the same question. My older sister was just up visiting and telling them all about how well I'm doing online, so suddenly everyone wants to know how!

Just kind of makes me laugh since these are people I don't talk to too much. We get along wonderfully when we see each other, it's just that we don't talk much, so hearing from them is something of a surprise. But it looks like I'll be getting a visit from one uncle to talk things over. Tried to talk my dad into visiting - he hasn't even met my son yet since we haven't had time to travel with Gage's surgery and my husband's job. We'll see if that worked.

Not that this would ever happen to you, but just imagine if you were down on your luck. Do you think you'd have the same phone calls offering for help?

People always want an easy way to make money, family or not. Hopefully they realize the risk involved and that things aren't always as easy as they seem.

What happens when your relatives try, and don't succeed, and blame you? (Just throwing the possibility out.)

I'm not too worried about what they'll think of what it takes to succeed. I alwasy emphasize that it took time, I'm no overnight success. One uncle has been in advertising and public speaking for years. He has a site, just didn't realize there were ways to earn from it. He's planning on flying in to visit me, and I hope I can learn as much from him as he might from me. He's talking about making sure that I earn from whatever he does, so there's a definite interest in keeping things fair and having me help him a pretty good bit.

As for what would happen if I were down on my luck... if things were that bad, yes, they'd be there. My dad's side of the family doesn't get in contact much when times are good, but if there's a problem, they are there. They all live 500-1000 miles away, which is part of why contact tends to be a little sporadic. It's also just old habits, since I didn't see them much when I was growing up. Things will change or they won't; I don't have any grand expectations from this.
