I am starting to see this more and more, job openings that, among other criteria, require you to be "tolerant to frustration".

WTF?? I can only imagine the horrible job environment you will end up in if they hire you.

    Pathetic...

Yes - if they say that right in the description, it must be hellish.

Or, maybe they've had alot of workers go 'office space' on them?

I've never heard of that, but then again I haven't really been looking for a job either. I certainly wouldn't apply for that job though. :)

Haven't seen that but I've seen many vacancies that require you to be "able to work under pressure".

Oh, yeah, you see that pressure one in 99% of the jobs here.

Just imagine a job that requires you to be able to work under pressure and be tolerant to frustration... wow, can't get any worse than that.

I don't think they even have scientists in this country, they all flee to other places.

Nah, must be a crummy job that pays about $300 a month.

Which brings us to the next question, what job:
    1. Requires the candidate to work under pressure
    2. Requires the candidate to tolerate frustrations
    3. Pay $300 a month...

I've never seen that in any job advertisement here and I sure as h*ll as with most people wouldn't be applying. There's enough frustrations in life already.

While many of us find the internet a ticket to freedom, think about how the risk factors look to outsiders:

A friend clicks your ads and suddenly your adsense income vanishes.
The software you depend on upgrades or goes out of business so you either have to update all your sites or replace it.
Yoir hard drive crashes and you've been a little sloppy about backup.
Your drop shipper messes up and your customers vanish.
A well funded competator goes after your niche.

You have no control over any of those (except backup); you just have to deal when they happen.

For many, sitting in an office dealing with stress and frustration which they can forget as soon as they walk out the door, will look like a much better deal.

One of the nice things about this forum is the collection of like minded folks. But, don't forget how unusual this kind of thinking is. How many people do you know with whom you could discuss this kind of thing? The salaried people of the world seldom have a clue.
