The good thing about wordpress is that it has thousands and thousand of great free templates. You can also buy cheap premium templates. For example drupal premium templates are often 3-5 times more expensive then the wordpress ones.

    Hi, it's depends...
If you want a big site, with lot of users, joomla is stronger, (and Drupal is the stronges).
But if you don't expect 100,000 users in a day, Wordpress is a great, simple and easy to customize.

    Good luck

I design almost all of my sites in wordpress :) It's much more simple and You can do it all what you want!
But I have little doubt what to use for a very large web store...I'll probably use wordpress too.

Since wordpress is much ore easier to handle and learn and is more user friendly, that's the reason that most of the people like to use WordPress. Drupal and Joomal are much more technical and hence not everyone could use it so effectively.

I build plugins and themes for both Joomla and Wordpress, so I would say I know the ins and out of both platforms. In my opinion, the choice between the two would be solely based on the purpose of the site and the administrators. I will list some pros and cons to explain.

Ease of Administration for adding posts/content
WordPress: Extremely easy to use for beginners
Joomla: Requires a little more than WordPress and has more options on screen that makes it seem harder to grasp. However, Joomla lovers will argue that the article parameters are quite useful (though half of us, don't use them)

    Pre-installed Software/Plugins
    WordPress:
    • Ability to create a Photo Gallery in Post as well videos
    • Media Upload is a breeze, especially with automatic image resizing
    • Links has been removed in WordPress 3.5
    Joomla
    • Packed with Weblinks, Contact Manager, Banner Manager and more.
    • Media Upload is not a breeze
    • Without add-ons, the default editor is not as easy as WordPress
    Access Control
    WordPress
    • Be default, ACL in WordPress is not impressive. Some things are only determined by a third-party plugin and additional roles require a third-party plugin or entering the code.
    Joomla
    • As of Joomla 2.5, ACL was taken to a next level. You can create groups and assign specific role to each group and users can be a part of multiple groups
I can express more differences between both systems, but I would just say this...If the main focus is a system for adding content in a fast manner by users who have a small learning curve or just require simplicity in adding content then I would suggest WordPress. However, if you are building a site that requires more database queries, advanced filtering and reporting then I would suggest Joomla. Both systems are awesome and you can complete a project using either, your best decision would be based on what you require at the bare minimum.

WordPress - mainly for blogs. There are lots of free and premium themes, plugins for most of the task .

Joomla is complex but powerful. Its OOP based and written using MVC, a programmer's paradise. Its a CMS of the truest kind

wordpress is easy to use, nightmare to code. Joomla is not so easy to use, a bit right but full OOP and better to code, Drupal is hard to use, everything is scattered in hundred of forms, and easy to code.

So if you dont like coding, wp is the best choice
