JPEG compression help

Discussion in 'Photoshop' started by gvambedkar, Jul 28, 2009.

    Hi all,

I have recently designed my portfolio site www.gvambedkar.com.

I used a banner image, which is 160 KB size taking too much download time.

Can anyone suggest me to compress/optimize the image or any other way to overcome this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

160KB is fine. Your site loads quickly enough for me (I'm in AU on a pathetic connection).

    Nice site design btw :)

If you really want to reduce the filesize, just open it in something like Photoshop, and reduce the JPEG quality %.

If you want to keep a sense of quality about the image use Photoshop and select Save for web or mobile. If you don't have Photoshop there is a program called Riot that helps compress your images.

Reduce the quality of the JPG to decrease the size of the image, or win zip it
