Just a little curious on site flipping...

Doesn't seem like it would be too hard to get into that business, but I have no idea what gives a NEWER site resell value. You would think that Traffic/PageRank/Revenue would be the only thing that a person would consider when purchasing a website, yet I see a lot of sites that are brand new and have none of these sell for $25 - $50 a pop.

What exactly makes a week old website worth $25-$50?

Potential, maybe? My guess is that seasoned IM's know what makes a great site and a small investment can soon be tweaked to an already-successful formula to further increase profits. I guess some sites simply save them time and money and can be chopped to fit in most cases.

There's a guy in another forum who has a blog about site flipping. I think his name is Travis. Actually, it's about blog flipping. He made, I think, $50,000 in one year doing it.

He explains it in his site http://blogflipu.com/

Good content, good traffic, good age, and monetization or ability to monetize.

Thanks everyone. I guess I'll have to do a little more research in order to figure out just exactly what gives a website "potential", at least in the mind of a buyer.

Good content, unique images, good design, custom programming work, traffic, and income would all contribute to the value of a website.

$25 to $50 is not very much though, so I would assume that it probably doesn't include many of the items that I mentioned above.

A week old site can be worth 1000's too. Sometimes domain name and the script has to be taken into consideration.
