Katrina Health Workers - spreading infection via injections

If you watch the health workers on fox or cnn or whatever giving what is probably vaccinations to support workers - they are making a f'n huge mistake and spreading blood borne disease ( hiv, hep, etc).

How: It all comes down to what the hand that doesn't hold the syringe does.

Explained: Both hands have gloves. One hand holds syringe and injects arm, other hand then rubs the point of injection where a little blood has started to come out the point of injection.

Unless they are putting on new gloves each time they do an injection (not likely [from the footage doesn't look like it]) the second hand has blood on it from rubbing the arm, which is transferred potentially to the next arm when they 'rub' the arm.

Yes people are this stupid - even health care workers.

If someone in the states understands what I'm describing - please call *scratches head* fema? who would be in charge of these injections. Or cnn and they will probably get onto it.

You make a very good point. But the mentality is that of protecting the health care worker. Not the people being innoculated. If I were in a line to be innoculated, if they were not using forced air injectors like they do in the military, then I would request new gloves of the worker getting ready to administer the injection.

Sad to say you have made what ought to be an obvious ovservation. My neighbor made many friends with health care workers when she made them wash their hands before checking her mother.

I think its pretty common in large situations like that. I haven't seen the footage, but I've seen tons of others where it seems like workers are going from one person to the next without changing gloves or anything. I think what they do is rub the spot down with iodine or something before and after injection to cleanse it (and prevent contamination). I'm not totally sure, but I've this done more than a few times.

I guess they just trust that the health care workers know what they are doing.

Does someone in the states wanna ring fox or cnn and ask them to make a deal out of it - hopefully get them doing it properly?

I was fixing to say something once I saw the title but this is what I call using your head. You really do have a valid point with what you mentioned. Also not only gloves but what about the needles. Those would need to be changed. Its a known fact that a high percentage of black people in the south have aids. Atleast around these parts anyways. You have got to be extremly careful or else.

I'm sure they would use a fresh fit for every injection. I was actually talking about the national guard, police and so on getting injections.

Not sure about your assumptions on who and how many people from what race and in what parts of the country have aids but anyway.
