My animals are family, would you leave your kid behind if it meant you could get yourself out safe, I mean it's just a kid right, you could have more.....

In a small way I see what you mean but do ask yourself this. What would you leave behind first. Your best friend your pet or a neighbor that needed help that you hadnt got along with so well. That will tell what kind of person you really are.

Okay see you jumped to a conclusion, you assumed that we were saying you should save your animals first, noone said that, we just said don't forget the voiceless multitudes of animals left behind in this disaster,

Depends on if my neighbor is able bodied or not, if he is, he is on his own, if he is feeble and unable to help himself, I would be more then happy to help. You have to understand what you are saying is a very narrow view, does my neighbor have the same means to leave as I do, is my neighbor not heeding the warnings to leave, there are questions that have to be weighed to answer this question truthfully.

You are good people, I like that. If I would have some more money I would also donate. I will make some heavy promotion on my sites for the Volunteer Ministers, volunteerministers.org, I have been working with them a lot and right now they have 500 volunteers to help in various areas. If I would have been in the US I would have been there too...

you're a worthless piece of shit. suck a fat one.

I would save my dog (that i grew up with for 15 years) before anybody else besides my own family. Anybody with a brain would know animals aren't just here "for our amusement" .. they are living creatures with emotions just like people. Keep your ignorant narrow minded religious views away from me.

Well if you knew anything at all about animal recovery you'd know that one of the first things shelters do is test and treat any incoming pets. People who work with animals are not idiots.

If the animals wouldn't have been locked until it was to late to escape they would have escaped to a safe place by instinct as it was during the tsunami.
Here the owners didn't heed the warnings to move out, locked everthing including their animals and then this ...

In Thailand for example not many animals died as far as I know, just a few pigs and some chicken (because they were locked).
After the tsunami the straying animals were collected and given to people who lost their beloved ones, it was regulary broadcasted on TV. For the victims it worked for good, - they found a companion and comfort and it helped them to overcome their shock.

One word you should NEVER use in your life is "if"...

if I had done that, if I had said that... no use on worrying about something you can't do anything about any more, it happened, so you need to deal with the consequences

Here are more heart breaking pictures

50 000 animals are stuck. Rescuers only take people.

I wouldn't leave without my pets, like the same as many do there now, we have an obligation towards our animals too.

That's what I don't understand, I've seen them recuing people, they sure have enough space on the boats to let a dog in, why the heck don't they take it?

And you are right, I would rather die with my dog besides me than abandon him in the waters
