Blending and placement nice. Horrible pop-up not so.
You're only using 2 of your allowed ad units so you might like to put the remaining one between the top and second top posts. Ad units between posts tend to do okay.

I would personally add a 468*60 banner immediately after the following line of text "Track the most popular sites that you visit with REKO". Just under the horizontal line. Ads within the actual content do much better than redundant ads.

And I must agree, those pop-ups would force the majority of visitors away from your site. Focus on contextual advertising rather than obtrusive pop-ups.

I like the blending with the skyscraper image and text ad. What I would try is to take the same idea but use a diff ad size.

and right above his post was...

great advice, seems very natural and human when you come to the completion of something(like reading a section of text or a post) that you want to 'finalize' it by clicking something like a finish button or... an ad :)

I'm very new to this, I love these boards already!

If you replace Top banner with wide 728X90 Adsense - That will increase your CTR - I am 100% sure ;)

Also that banner is covering alot of space - there is very less content on it.

    Its just a suggestion :)
