I am not a complete photoshop newbie, but I have absolutely no experience making logo's or any type of "header" in photoshop. What are some good tutorials/learning sites for photoshop? All i know of is Good-tutorials.com.

    Thanks.

start making some free (or $5) logos/banners for friends or ppl who don't mind not-so-pro work.

I was actually in the same situation as you not too long ago. Then someone was looking for a $5 banner for their forum so I took the job (thinking $5 was standard pay...). You'll learn just from the process of trying to make the best banner u can. Cuz in order to make a nice banner, I had to find nice font. So I went looking for fonts. Then I had to experiment with colors and in doing so I stumbled upon new tools and I had to figure out what they did (or look them up).

I looked for a bunch of photoshop tutorials to learn how to make my text look more pro. Here's one site I used for text tutorials in the beginning:
    http://www.photoshoproadmap.com/Pho...he-best-80-photoshop-text-effects-on-the-web/

remember, ALWAYS do the best you can on projects - it's easy after a while to kinda just meet the project instructions and stop there. But really you should always try to make each design better than the last one u made. Cuz:
    1) u learn a lot more thru the process
    2) u build up a good portfolio

Take a graphic design course and actually study the theory of logo design. So many bad designers out there already...

You can read 100's of books, tutorials and still be no good the only way to learn is though trial and error. spending time just messing around with photoshop or what ever you use is the only way.

Remember 'practice makes perfect'...not read a book and it will just happen.

A good place to start is in the contest section here, go for the lower priced contests and over time you will improve. Your best work is normally done for money...and the will to win.
