If your site has left and right sidebar, which side that brings you much of clicks?

left will give you more clicks, all things being equal.

left-side navigation is the norm (think cnn.com). people naturally go to the left for navigation as a result of it being so common.

People view pages in sort of an L/E like fashion. So left side is better.

I have tracked this and the left sidebar so far brings in more clicks than the right.

But I read somewhere that right hand bar brings more clicks since it's closer to the user (closer to the mouse)... how bout this?

Most people think the menuss are on the left side, therefore they are more apt to click there..

so, if you have the room for it, a navigation menu on the right and only ads on the left would also work well?

I might try this out and post about it later, after I gather some stats... I have a feeling you are right.

The only problem is that a lot of my sites are not very consistent and the traffic is fluctuating, no matter, it's worth a shot.

this month the CTR for left 0.68% and the right 0.36%. I think the left side is much better than right side

What if you have only one side bar? Will it be better to have it on the left or right?

Definely left. Maybe do a mix of ads, example:

    ads
    links
    ads
    links

    etc..

I placed my adsense ads within my left nav bar and their results are very good.
The best 2 positions for ads are in the header and blended inside the actual content. Don't waste your good ads on the sidebars
