Legal drinking age united kingdom

    Hi everyone,

I don't want to sound too addicted, but I'm going to London for a while and I would like to know what the minimum drinking age is and more important; If I'm allowed to visit pubs.

I found this about minimum drinking age on wiki, but it is not saying whether or not I'm allowed in pubs.

This post is not about drinking, but I would find it really annoying if I can't get inside pubs. I rarely drink by the way :D

    Yep 18.

But you might get ID'd. There's a '18 with ID or look 21' policy nowadays in most places I think.

Ok that's great. A friend of mine told me that 21 is the minimum age to get inside pubs, but I think she got confused with the States. Thanks! :)

Classy places on Saturday and Friday are often 21 and over. Otherwise indeed 18. Pubs rough as guts won't be that anal about it. If you're 17 and look 19 you'll be OK.

Bouncers are often quite thick, I got people in on fake IDs (scan drivers license, change name and photo, print high quality) easily.

21 I think is way to high for the US. 18 is a good age I think. Are you 18? Says you should have no problem as long as you can prove your 18.. :p

    True that...

If you're old enough to fight in a war you should be old enough to go to a freaking bar and order a beer.

And then you come to Portugal and the legal age to drink is 16 but if you’re accompanied buy your parents it really doesn’t matter….

Yeah, in UK if you have a meal with parents in the pub, I don't think the drinking age matters either.

Casper prepare yourself to pay £ 2.5 per beer!!! In Portugal a six-pack only costs € 2.50 and if you go to those discount stores you’ll get them for around € 2.
