Ok, what about sharing suggestions, or knowledge or interesting stories that can be discussed in this topic, so we can reach an higher level of knowledge and maybe those famous "secrets" we all aspire to know?

Let's start with simple ideas, but through discussing we could reach important results, all together.

Let me start: one suggestion for new marketing guys. If you have just new websites with not enough traffic, it's useless to use banner advertising and similar (Adsense) to get some money.

So, what to do when you have low traffic? the best way is to focus on Affiliate Marketing, reviewing specific products and advertising those reviews (as example with PPC campaigns)

This way, also with low traffic, you can do a lot more than with banner advertising. Just keep studying stats from the PPC campaigns. You have to find the right product so you don't lose money but, considering your campaign investment, you'll end with some earning.

Now, your turn, let's make this thread important!

Personally i dont suggest to focus on affiliate program if the site have low traffic, it is better focus on developing the website by adding more reviewing to attach the visitor. once the website have some loyal visitor, then only adding the affiliate program

ok, so you suggest to wait and develop further the website. it's a good idea. anyway, my suggestion was in case you really want or need to make some money from your website and can't wait. Many just put banner advertisement and they lose other opportunities. Anyone had experiences with low traffic sites? How did you monetize them, or how much did you wait before beginning to monetize?

I suggest to either write or use a PLR report to capture emails and then you can sell products to your list. Offer good service and friendliness. You can do this in the sidebar and still do affiliate and adsense. Do not restrict yourself to one method.

seems that product reviews are something we all agree about. Anything else to spice up the thread? consider we are giving suggestions to new marketing guys. What can we tell them to make their life easier?

as example, niche marketing. How much is important, how much must be niche? let's make examples of niche and an even smaller niche (weight loss --> weight loss diets --> weight loss vegan diets --> weight loss low potassium vegan diets --> ? ? ).

I think traffic is one of the key factors for the progress of a website. You really need first to accumulate traffic. The rest follows. :D

ok, then we are moving to another issue: web traffic. Can we add few suggestions on how to get traffic with a low investment? As example, StumbleUpon is a great tool to have some traffic without spending money, and it's all real traffic (very important!).

My money-making 'secret' takes time but the payoff is huge. That is simply - relation building. And I'm not just referring to building a list of raving fans whom you can market to again and again (which should be your #1 priority since your list in one thing you have 100% control of) but also building relations with other like-minded marketers in your niche. That's right... in your niche. You don't have to look at your compeititors as your enemies. You can form alliances with competitors to swap traffic and do purposeful joint ventures with to make all of you more money. Sure, there are toolbags in every niche so you can ignore them and before long they'll be on the outside looking in on your powerful alliances as you collectively dominate your market.

I want to add something, about the evolving relationship between any business and its customers and the actual stage we are on these days. You can name it "Customer experience" or "Customer enrichment". If you don't adapt and you still use old marketing methods, you will fail for sure.

In Internet all of this becomes Social Enrichment, which is an even more specific kind of enrichment, where social comes in. The next years probably will be a kind of social overwhelming and I tell you that I don't like it.

Pinterest is a great source for traffic if you have the right type of site. In my traffic logs I'm seeing them beat Google search, Facebook and Twitter referrals. Sites that work well with pinterest are craft sites, food blogs and anything wedding related.

yeah, I know as well that Pinterest is great but it's not for any kind of website. At the moment I put StumbleUpon as first top quality traffic source, and then Pinterest, probably. Digg is good to be mentioned but it's not so powerful as in the past.

Where is the money making secret?
You shared what's already been known, so it's not a secret, right? You just mention Affiliate Marketing and Banner advertising and gave your personal opinion of which is better if you have low traffic.

If you want other people to post their money making secret, you need to give something valuable. I have tons of good ideas and secrets but I rarely share it with huge number of spammers on the forums. I only give opinions and tips.

yeah, exactly, I said "sharing suggestions -> to reach an higher level of knowledge".

My idea was to reach that point (the "famous secrets") through discussion all together. Using this thread as starting point. But anyway, till now it's not bad, more than 400 views and 14 replies. Now we should begin to discuss seriously.

About the importance of a suggestion, if it should be considered a "secret" or just an opinion: maybe it is valuable for a newbie that keeps doing the same wrong ways, pushing him toward new ideas to be implemented. And the same suggestions could be useless for a long time marketing guy (or maybe not, if it's not his specialised field).

In any case, sharing is important. We can use this thread or just another one. I only tried to start this.

Yep, 400 views and 14 replies. Just read through the replies. Anyone shown any interest in sharing any secrets?

I don't want to be rude and I'm not trying to be smart but I've been on this forum for quite long and I know that there will be no persons who will share something really useful to the community like it's the making money secrets and methods.

But I'm glad you are trying to start something.
