What do you think LinkedIn is useful for and how can business benefit from it?

 

Where I work we actually get quite a lot of leads through linked by people looking at our profiles. We also participate in relevant groups which has led to a few people asking for our services.

Linkedin is not so popular today due to Facebook & Tweeter. But lot of people are using it including me. You can increase your websites' traffics from there.

 

I wouldn't say that is true, it can co-exist along with Fb and Twitter as it is more about business.

 

Yes, LinkedIn is popular in worldwide and daily more and more people joined under it.
You can use it as a social bookmarking service.

 

This is a great thread. LinkedIn is somewhat under-appreciated by offline consultants. I am actually developing an offering to my offline clients to set-up LinkedIn and use it to get customers. It really is a great source if you know what to do.

 

I just thought of something....has anyone promoted QR code consulting through LinkedIn......I will have to think about this and put something together.

 

Yup. We are in the process of this, hence my signature. You are right, it is a great source and massively under appreciated.

 

Most of jobs are created using LinkedIn these days. You can join job related groups to get the latest job, it is the simple example. You can utilize LinkedIn for your own purpose.

I find LinkedIn pretty useful in business terms.

Linkedin is very good but for professional type stuff. Jobs boards, conferences, etc.

 

I don't think there is any one marketing method that fits all business types. in my opinion, social media works best as a platform for market research and pre-selling / building "brand name awareness" and deeper trust, as opposed to direct selling.
