    It seems odd to me that local discussion boards are so rare. Strange.
    Why aren't local level forums popular?
    There is no category for such forums on the Big Boards website.
    I thought that forums on a topic such as LIFE IN A CITY would become popular discussion sites. Was I wrong to think that?
    What do you think?
    Do you know any such forums?
    What is the direction such websites are taking?

    From what I have seen a lot of people are using Facebook groups/fan pages to talk about local issues and local events. Yelp.com & Meetup.com are two other good references for local discussions.

    I'd say Craigslist, Yelp, and local newspaper websites comprise most of the local "discussion" that's going on these days.
