    I dunno why any country would want the olympics. It has a negative economic impact. If I remember right, Greece actually lost a butt-load of money by hosting the olympics last time. All of the stadiums it had to built, plus the future upkeep of these things ... other than it being a political boon, it isn't much more.

    Well if anyone needs some political brownie points at the moment it is Britain. I just don't know if by hosting the Olympics this will have an even greater detremental effect politically wise as everyone who lost out on the bid to hold the Olympics will hate Britain even more! :eek:

    We'll have to wait and see. :)
