Buying (Long term) Native English writer, 15 hrs p/w, $250 US

We are seeking a writer for a long term job which requires 15 hrs per week, sliced up into 3 hrs per day M-F in afternoons of EST USA time zone. The payment will be $250 (US dollar) weekly via paypal.

The Job:

• A small town media outlet is seeking someone to help with reports on a range of topics including sports, business, lifestyle, environment, entertainment etc. You don't have to be an expert in all of the topics, but working knowledge on a few would be a bonus.
• Most the writing is not in-depth, more quick short articles (100-400 words)
• You will post them to a wordpress site, using a very specific pre-existing posting style (bolded sub headers, photos at certain pixel width etc)
• We will provide many of the concepts/info, but you need to be able to use initiative as well.
• Writing style required is fairly bland/news style (no humour, opinion etc) and is for "humans" not bots, so we aren't worried about SEO or keywords etc. Just old fashioned good writing.
• We are seeking a long term relationship. Unless you envision yourself still doing this next year, please do not apply.

The ideal candidate must [no exceptions]

• Be an individual not a company - as we want the person to become familiar with the town
• Be a native English speaker, from any nation, but able to use UK/Australian English spelling eg: harbour not harbor.
• Familiar with wordpress, or be a very quick learner
• Generally net savvy, able to embed YouTube videos, create hyperlinks etc
• Be available via gchat during working hours
• Be quick, especially for cases of breaking news
• Reliable, enthusiastic, quick learner, and able to use initiative for the dreaded “slow news days” (eg: whip up fluff pieces)

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a stable long term part time job, and we are keen to build a long term relationship, which can lead to increased hours/pay.

The pay, while hardly Fortune 500 stuff, we hope will be sufficient to attract a native English speaker who can produce quality content. To stress, we are only seeking native English writers, and will not even consider non-native.

How many articles would you need written and posted in a normal three hour day and what would the word count of the articles need to be?

 

Everything is contingent on the news that day, so there is no set word count or amount of articles, hence why we are offering to pay by set hours.
