AC, the point I was making earlier is that maybe you already have what you need buddy. I know you think you need to be a superprogrammer to make it rich, but I am pretty sure that is not the case. Maybe you won't be able to create tools like Shawn has or even a cool little proxy and FireFox extension like Josh, but I am pretty sure you can write a lot over the course of one day (see post count under your name). Maybe you just need to have Josh build you a few sites you can add content to and you can spend half as much time here every day. Just a though good buddy.

 

Yeah, I have already asked Josh to help me, we may get together on a project when we have the time down the road

Great job, Josh. That's damn impressive. I even think you might be selling yourself short here. I don't know for sure what your site's worth, but $2500 seems like a bargain. I'm sure it'll work out in the end, however, and you'll spawn many, many more projects. Like AC, I see big things ahead for you.

I can understand the dilemma. Sometimes a quick nickel beats a slow dime.

 

I agree, another thing would be starting an industry specific forum - with 7k posts and having a forum about let's say domain names, Anthony ... you could be on your way to wealth in less than a year

 

There is no money in the forum business, just ask Shawn, forums are a tool to drive traffic to other stuff or for use as a support vehicle as Shawn uses this one to support his products and tools.

Forums can be part of an overall portal or site, but unless a stand alone forum is large (50,000 members and 500+ online 24/7) you will have a hard time making a living from a forum.

It takes years to get that large, ask Shawn about that also.

Forums are hard work, I see all the time Shawn puts in here to keep it going, when the forum was attacked by the traffic bots that wiped out many of them also.

I don't want to be the guy responsible for running one to be Frank about it, or Jim about it for that matter

Fryman, only one month of your income and you own it, you said you were doing 5 Grand now and quit your job, spread some of that around man

 

he he... not doing 5k yet... that is my goal for this year. I'm doing about 3k right now. My error was having just one site and wanting it to give more and more money. So I started to build several minisites with information, and put up some adsense banners on them. My earnings are better every day now.

Moral of the story is... don't realy on just one or 2 sites, build as many as you can. It is much easier to have 20 sites that make 5 bucks a day each on adsense, than having 2 that make 50

 

Yeah and you can put up a lot of sites and get no traffic to them so what good does that do?
