    hi.

i am looking for a nice and easy content management system where i can just call certain body parts of a website such as header, navbar, content container and footer

i know wordpress has this option of running as a non-blogging CMS, but i was hoping if there existed something easier?

the reason i ask is i dont like copy + pasting header/footer/navbar html every time i make an html page. i would like to just be able to call them in a php script cms

    is this possible?

    Hi,

I would suggest you to use Drupal. Or if you want more simplicity and more functionality, go for CMS Made Simple.

They are both OPen Source and very flexible.

    Cheers!

    Megan.

Joomla and Drupal are "powerhouse" solutions and don't quite meet the criteria of "light" and "easy to configure" (well, of course, that depends on POV). I think the OP is getting at "CMS lite" meaning very simple to set up and use for the average person. I'm also assuming the OP wants "classic" CMS functionality, which is why I'm not listing WordPress here (great system, but to get it to behave like a typical CMS takes a bit of doing).

"Light" and "easy to configure" CMS platforms are available. Here is my prior post on the subject:

    Hope this helps. :)

There is Soholaunch. It is free to try, and it is also open source. The pre-installed templates are short at best, but you can customize them at your liesure.

And Yes, I do work there, but I am suggesting this becuase you are looking for something simple.

Demoing of the cms systems is best -- there are also cms systems which are drag and drop or click and type/place object CMS software like squeak
