Looking for a security site. This is a long shot :)

This is a long shot but what the heck...I'm looking for a security site. I can't remember the url and I'm not sure if it's still around, I used to frequent it a lot a while ago. All I remember is the owner of the site used to be a hacker that turned to goodie goodie "security expert" and started helping agencies bust hackers and turned his site to a network security site.

Also I think he started his little hacking ventures while in university which he got kicked out from for doing naughty computer things. Other than that I can't remember much more, I think he had a hate mail section and for some reason the name "John" rings a bell although I'm not 100% on that. Oh and also I remember reading some random person showed up at his door one time and had a shotgun in his car downstairs.

    K, thanks :D

I think you may be thinking of AntiOnline. The guy who runs it is John Vranesevich. As I recall, he's kinda controversial in the security community.

Sounds pretty simular to Kevin Mitnick (The whole New York Times ordeal).

In any case: kevinmitnick.com (Mitnick Security Consulting, LLC)
