You can use Photoshop to animate your GIF images. No application has exist to convert photo to video. That is near to impossible at this era.

You can import your images into a video editing program and transition through the images and then save as a video.

I use Adobe After Effects. Import an image and it becomes 'footage' (static of course, since the image is effectively just a single frame).

On my mac i use Final Cut Express. Just to transition through images... looks very clean cut and very professional.
I know adobe also has a ton of programs for this sort of thing

If you're using Windows XP and above just use the Windows Movie Maker program. It's free and very good at creating movies from slideshows.

My favorite software to use is MemoriesOnTV by codejam.com - it has a ton of different professional looking transitional effects. You can also make a DVD, or just a video for the internet.

so we are talking about taking a bunch of photos and then making a DVD slideshow?

it seems like a simple question but of the 8 progs or so I've tried, I have yet to find "the one".

I really liked Nero Vision 5 BUT (and this is a big but) it did not let you manipulate the music tracks well enough...no fade!!! come on!!

The only problem I have with Windows Movie Maker is that it sucks the donkey butt. I have tried doing large video slide shows with it and it has crapped out 9/10.

Now I know many before me have never had an issue with it and that's fine but MS secretly hates me, do not debate me on this, it is a fact.

WMM might be good for SMALL projects but I certainly wouldn't trust it for serious work!

It doesn't make sense to convert a single static photo to video format, but if a series of pics, you can use Gif maker, and then convert it to any video formats.
