Just started a new website and was looking for input on my advertising on home page and pages. I still have to add more content and may look into some affiliate advertising as well but was wondering what you think of the placement of google adsense right now. thanks in advance

I usually put the rectangle in the middle above the fold before the content. Great CTR. Never tried putting it at where you put it (in the right sidebar above the fold). Looks really nice, I like it... but not sure how the ads are performing? Have you had good CTR with it?

I think that you could have a very good placement, but you just need to try and test it. Otherwise you will never know. Personally, I feel that people are very accustomed to having their eyes scan across to the right, so this could really work out well.

I agree with right ad placements. It seems all the image maps I looked at, the right top corner is the hottest with the left top corner being a close second.

I like how you've done the ads. I mean, putting them in your content does get your some good CTR, but I personally don't like to loose viewers after they accidentally click on ad and know they got scammed and never come back. I may have made that $1 then, but in the long run, that same user, might legibility click 3 or 4 ads totaling for more money.

I can't judge CTR yet as I just got the website up and we are going to get 90 percent of the traffic through search engines or at least that is what we are estimating. I don't know how you can get traffic from a website such as a destination guide website from any other way. I don't mind visitors clicking through an advertisement because I think the advertisements pretty much stand out because they come to the website looking for information on Holden Beach and if they are not real serious about needing information on it I would rather them click through an advertisement to leave than to just easily click Home or Back.
