Looking for comments on a makeover of my travel page

I am looking for comments on a re-do of the CSS layout of my travel page template.

    New:
    http://www.ianandwendy.com/OtherTrips/BotswanaNamibia/Botswana/index3.htm

    Old:
    http://www.ianandwendy.com/OtherTrips/BotswanaNamibia/Botswana/index.htm

    The differences are:
    • Sidebar is now left side, allowing me to place an ad in the top left, the "hot" zone
    • I gave up on liquid layout (CSS standards are too unstandardized, I couldn't get around float drop bug in IE with nested floats) and went with a 1000 width plus scrollbar layout - I think it's ok now although browsershots still shows problems with 800 width on IE5/Windows, but I can't reproduce the problem. I also do my rounded corners with images now instead of javascript- which renders quicker/nicer.
    • The menu is now pure CSS, and sort of uglier then the transmenu I used before, but the crawlers should be able to see all my internal links better now, and I found that transmenu broke all kinds of css on the rest of the page.
    • Better blending of ad in the "slideshow" bubble

I know I still have work to do, some of the sidebar boxes like "Links" are ugly. There is also some ugliness in the menu (especially with multiple nesting levels)

Any comments appreciated! Should I stick the link bar in the footer? Is it too many ads above the fold?

Once I have a layout, I can stamp it onto the rest of my country pages - lots of them - so I want to make sure I get it right :)

    Thanks

Ok now i see. From my point of view, it is better for you to put the sidebar on the right, because its near to the browser slider. Others are find but i think it is better for you to change the slideshow title to look like the ads (no capital letters).
