    www.GeekBabes.org

Looking for reviews of/suggestions for AdSense placement

Site is brand new, haven't driven any traffic yet - want to get it ship-shape before I start planting links....

    Thanks

Your ads are far away from the content. I suggest you blend them in content. Use a horizontal link unit on the top, just beneath your header. Then between your two posts, place a wide rectangle ad unit and use appropriate colors for the links...

    Thanks gravis

you reitereated what I was thinking but was too lazy to dig into the code to integrate the AdSense into the dataset repeater....

You comment was all the motivation I needed to make the changes

Please check it again if you get a chance

I would try to integrates a large 250 x 250 ad inside the content area so that it can be noticed easily.

Although it might not look as pretty, I would try a rectangle (large if it would fit) instead of the banner size. You'll probably get more clicks.

    thanks all

I like the way it looks now, I don't want it to look like an AS whore... but I also want to make some dough. I'll tinker with sizes and palcement as (if!) traffic comes in.

I think if you include a 120x90 on the navigation link (right column), it will help to increase adsense cash. I tried it and draw additional click rates. Also, using other colors instead of blue will increase the clickthrough rates.

    hi edhan

    thanks for the suggestion-

I seen analysis where making AS links look like you own increases click through and anaylsis where making them different does the same. I guess it depends on the site.

right now I've got thte max 3 AS banners showing, but I am partial y to 'navigation' AS banner too, so that is in the test case pool

You can add channel to monitor and see which result is better. Yes, it will differ from site to site. One site works doesn't imply the next site will be the same. It is all about experimenting and see what is best for individual site.
