It will be a social network for seniors 50+ years. I tried to set one up with joomla but was having all kinds of plugin problems.

    All the Best,

SNAPP's pricing model is a bit over the top if you ask me, after those fees they still get to keep a percentage of your AdSense earnings?

    *$199/month for 1 to 25,000 members
    25,001 to 50,000 members $414/month
    50,001 to 100,000 members $699/month
    100,001 to 250,000 members $1,259/month
    250,001 to 500,000 members $2,099/month
    500,001 to 1 million members $3,494/month

Not a business model for the long-tail.

I installed PHPfox for a customer once. Its a really nice looking script, but it seemed very very slow.

I installed and designed several, but ultimately was very disappointed on how the software performed, specially at high volumes.. it just wasn't built for scalability.

phpfox is ok, but its kinda slow, you need to turn off alot of nice feature of the site such as ajax, comments and so on...but give it a try though, they have upgraded their version though its not stable yet...
