    I heard it sucked!

My wife just asked if I'd go see it tonight. I guess if Ferret likes it, maybe I'll go check it out.

I'll give a review when I get back.

    (It's rated "R" here)

    Rated R here also...

The intro to the movie is pretty original and creative. The movie itself reminds me alot of the movie "Blow" .. one regular guy's rise from rags to ritches.. transporting illegal goods.

I'd recommend the movie.. but to those with a weak stomach.. or anyone really "gung-ho" about being "pro" guns...

I wrote a huge huge review about this movie about last week and was about to post but then thought to myself.. hell no one will read it, its way way 2 long.

The movie is pretty good I would say, not solid with the whole plot as the come up is weak however the action is great, and the whole idea is very good.

Anyone here Ukranian or Russian? Find the the speach funny as usual in american movies when trying to talk in Russian :D

the movie sort of had a big budget glow to it wich weakened it , like the bad buys didn't seem sick enough

the gangsters from city of god where much more believable

he supposed actually rented guns and the plane from real gun dealers

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9443116/site/newsweek/

it says that he rent 3000 ak-47s from a private arms dealer in cech republic

Wedding crashers was good. Probably the most solid and best movie I have seen this year. Although Lord of War is great as well but its not as complete.

What I found rather cheesy is that "trying to make a difference" line he says in the end when he is 'caught'. And he talks about "the biggest" gun seller is the president... Like WHOA tell me something new lol It was way too cheesy.

The most "solid" movie of the year was one about 2 guys going to weddings to get laid? ... it wasn't even that funny.

Lord of War isn't just supposed to be "entertainment" .. it's a movie with a real message. Maybe to serious of a message for a younger generation.. or people who think "It's not my problem" when they see/hear about horrible things going on in other parts of the world...

The least you can do is give the message behind the movie some thought. Rebels "conflict" diamonds are paying for these guns that are being used to slaughter millions of africans. What is the U.N. and the big governments doing to stop it? Putting blame on the "gun runners"? Wheres the actions being taken against Russia for letting all these weapons be stolen/sold???

If the U.S. plays any role in this sort of thing I'd really like to know about it.

All i can say is that most of us don't realise just what a horrible tragedy Africa is becoming. The wildlife is going extinct, genocide, and starvation. They also say global warming is going to cause huge droughts in Africa.. causing even more food shortages.

There is some things in the world you can't control and they will always stay. You would be a fool to think ANYONE can make a change in such a huge market. USA's weapon market produces 150 BILLION ANUALLY. Nobody can do anything about that, and people should know this. CASH RULES EVERYTHING AROUND ME, nothing is more powerful then money in this world.

This subject is very very old, and thats how things are and going to be forever. Please post your arguement and some proof that change is being done.

You're so wrong it's not even funny. First of all, GREED is what has been ruling everything around you, and me. And there is something A LOT MORE POWERFUL than greed, it's called compassion. And if/when the MAJORITY of people let compassion and love be more important than greed, THINGS WILL CHANGE. But that has to happen first. The world CAN CHANGE overnight if the MAJORITY wanted it to and was willing to do something about it. Call me an idealist.. even I don't think it will happen because majority of people don't have any real values... but it could.

Maybe compassion can help in small markets, but a 150 billion dollar one, it's just not possible. How can you terminate something like that in reality? Also what people have a say in this? Democracy is not real, it can't change something like this invovling huge huge money, and it's been happening forever yet no change.

If more people had love and compassion in their hearts it wouldn't be 150 billion dollar market because there wouldn't be a need for illegal arms.

Aw man!! You mean I was wasting my time with that Alvin Toffler book 15 years ago? I could have been out driving around with my friends listening to Billy Idol!

fyi Alvin Tofflers "Powershift" claims an evolution of power. In ancient brutal times power was derived by force, violence. More recently wealth could buy power. Toffler claimed the current power shift would be to those who control information. That's really all I remember! (I guess I don't get to control the information) Of course all 3 have always existed. And great amounts of any can trump the other 2.

On a more humanistic note. I think most people are naturally compassionate, but some are educated (brainwashed) out of it. Come to think of it...societies where warlords, fanatical rulers...pick your flavor, affect the peoples education, the content of media, create schools of fantical thinking. If flow of information could be made free again then some of their nationalist hatred would dissipate.

But since there aren't any ivory towers in this little town I guess I'll just try to behave myself here.
